How often has some one come to you or your church or ministry with hurts and problems which require Professional and Clinical therapy? As a Pastor or Staff person you have undoubtedly been frustrated with the lack of local Christ-Centered resources available. Your Pastor’s heart wants to help, but you are keenly aware that you may be over your head. Your schedule will hardly allow another minute, yet you realize that this is critical to their Mental, Emotional, Spiritual and yes, Physical Health. What do you do?   

In most cases, in the surrounding counties, the options are limited. There are Christians in secular facilities available, but they do not offer a Christ-Centered approach to Therapy. Often, these Clinics, who have Christian on staff do not allow their staff to counsel from a biblical perspective, limiting you from  the real Counselor, The Holy Spirit.    

 You have learned in your experience that you dare not take on delicate issues ”in a Therapeutic Counseling setting.” Counseling, your church members other than in a "Spiritual Counseling setting" lends itself to uncovering  embarrassing issues. Once a church member has “bared their soul” you can almost be assured that they will love you forever but will transfer to another church where their "secret" is unknown. This is human nature and many churches are testimonies to the unsuccessful “Pastor as Counselor” approach.  Often the church splits over "which side the Pastor took." This is immature thinking, but Pastors who have tried to walk tight rope have scars to prove it.   

So, what are your options?  Send them to secular Facilities, take on the time consuming/ frustrating  task of Pastor/Counselor, Send them away without help or hope?

Keep your hurting people at your church or ministry facility and allow them the Professional and Clinical Christ-Centered approach to therapy, Sponsor the “un-churched”  as a ministry of your church and we will encourage those folks to incorporate into your church.
